The Essentials

The essentials

"May God greet you,
my name is Dr. Ute Mahr.

As a psychotherapist by calling, my motto is:
"Research what works - find what heals."

My approach to work

Dr. Ute Mahr

1) For over 35 years I am always researching new therapy methods in intensive, multi-year training and self-experience "from the bottom up",
• To find out what a method can do, what it cannot and what its dangers are,
• to broaden my mind for the many aspects of human existence,
• To clarify myself as much as possible as a person, so that I can recognize and understand you in your inner depth as clearly as possible.

2) Researching and working on your current topic is done in the precise orientation to your body reactions, i.e. in the body orientation, because the body as the “vessel of the soul” most surely shows the individual truth of a person.

3) On the basis of your feedback, I will offer you what is probably the most helpful therapy method for your current concern and check its effect together with you.

4) And: Researching the effect of the respective therapy method by
• Observation of the development of the teaching therapists and training participants during the respective therapy training.
• Implementation of a therapy method in my own life: Will my life and my relationships become healthier and happier - and do my family members perceive this as well?
• Joint critical review of the therapy success after each session with the help of a special Feedback questionnaires.

For this reason my work is well suited for all those people who canot find any real help in our health system, but want to work on yourself and also are ready to face their darker sides.
Because our dark sides are only the unlit side of our potential.
For me, successful therapy means developing the potential of my clients.

I refuse to commit to a specific form of therapybecause, in my experience, every form of therapy has its possibilities, limits and dangers. The therapy is most effective when I ask anew in each session which method is most likely to help which person in which life situation. (see below "Competence / What is healing?" and "philosophy”)
